12.05.2003 - In 1998 MAN Turbo secured an order for one of the biggest barrel-type compressors. It is being used in a refinery in Port Arthur, Texas, USA to compress so-called coker gas, which is formed during refining of very heavy crude oil. The fully assembled unit is over 14 meters long, approx. 5 meters wide and high and weighs 70 tonnes. Following a successful test run, the motor-driven compressor was commissioned in 1999.
