14.03.2003 - In 1994, MAN Turbo supplied a turbocompressor system, consisting of an axial blower driven by a steam turbine, for a steelworks in Anshan, China. The order included testing of the complete train and its subsequent erection and commissioning.

The blast furnace blower is located upstream of the steelworks and supplies the blast furnace blast required for the production of pig iron. An axial compressor and a condensing steam turbine were supplied as part of the order, which also included the oil units and the condensation unit.

The blast furnace blower has been operating continuously since its installation to the complete satisfaction of the customer.
